[Intro/OTA]
Audrey's not entirely sure how she's managed it, but she fell asleep on the beach last night. It was just meant to be a breather, dipping her toes in the frigid water just long enough to wake herself up for the short drive back to her trailer park. Only the water had been extremely fucking cold, so cold she'd rippled up in orange scales and had to warm up the siren way just to get back to the sleeping bag she'd spread out to take a seat.
The plan had been to sit, warm up, wake up.
Which, in a manner of speaking, she's accomplished. After all she's very warm in her deep chill sleeping bag and she's mostly awake with the cold, gray morning light. "The fuck..." Audrey sits up and drags a hand down her face. "Well that sure is the fucking ocean..."
Good thing she's awake before high tide. That would have been more trouble than she'd been prepared to deal with.
Grumbling, she unzips the sleeping bag and carefully wills the orange scales away.

She perches carefully on his lap, arranging a few things on the table t free up space.

Les puts a hand on her leg when she perches on his lap getting comfortable. "The truth?" He winces slightly at her question looking away for a moment. He and Audrey were like instant friends when they met and he's always been pretty open with her.
"I just realized I have feelings for someone else, and I ended things. It's horrible. April hates me. Caden hates me," he says, pausing a beat. "You ever been in love with anyone? Besides me obviously," he adds with a smirk.
no subject
"No. I don't think I've ever really been in love," she says. "It's why I make such a good slut."

"So how's all that going over?"
no subject
"Terribly. Things are weird with Corry now too." He makes a face threading his fingers through Audrey's hair with a softer smile. "Ess, I'm glad you're here. Take me out back and put me outta my misery, huh?"
no subject
"If I kill you, you can't draw me a chart to explain your clusterfuck."
no subject
That's why he starts laughing after a beat or two of silence. "Jesus. Seriously shoot me," he says. "Or just don't let me have sex without anyone else for a month or two."
no subject
She almost means it too. She adores Les, there's no question of that, but she's never really spent much time thinking about monogamy.

She shakes her head and grins a little, "I can give up my slutty ways but not my wandering ones. A girl's gotta eat."

Carefully, she gets off his lap and pulls him upward, "I'm your midnight pancake girl."
no subject
He looks up at her holding her on the arm with a sincere smile. "I know that. And I will call if I manage to screw anything else up so you can set me straight." He stands up and squeezes her into a good long hug because she's been away. "You are more than that. You're my trashy midnight pancake girl. Big difference. Regular pancake girl is nice, but Trashy thinks my eyes are pretty."
He gestures at the door. "Can we go? All this pancake talk has me hungry."

"Remember, you're buying."

But first, food.
no subject
"You really want some of this?" he jokes.

"I love you, Les," she promises. It's not an anguished declaration. It just is. They're best friends, closer than close. She just loves him, the end. "And you know I won't ever screw you over."
no subject
"Really? Never? Not even if Green Day called and said you could be their opening act?" he asks draping an arm around her shoulders in a half-hug.
no subject
"And honey, I wouldn't be opening. We'd be co-headlining. And I'd get a solo in their encore."
Laughing, Audrey raises their joined hands and kisses his knuckles. "You're never getting rid of me, darlin."
no subject
He nudges her with his elbow, chuckling. "Hell, I may just do that the next time you sing at a wedding."
no subject
"Okay but is it actually your bra or one that you stole from one of the hot fangirls in my audience?"
