New Comic Book Day [Open to All]

These days, Audrey can't buy comic books willy-nilly. Her camper's already a crazy mess as it is and a small space that doesn't really brook mile-high stacks of books, but Audrey still enjoys going into comic shops and going through the stacks to see if there's anything particularly interesting. Already, she knows she'll grab a couple blind-boxes because she loves her some super-heroes, maybe a t-shirt, but all in good time.

For now, she's just browsing through the trade paperbacks. Those are a little easier to justify since it's more condensed, plus she gets a little more bang for her buck.

"Hey, do you know if they have the new Captain Marvel trade yet?" she asks, vaguely in the direction of the cashier but open for any to answer.

"Nope, it's too late. You're already sentenced," he said, shaking his head. "You're do perform at least 5 hours of community service this week. So that's a minimum of doing something fun for five hours. And don't think I won't know if you skimp out."

"Name the time and place," Levi said. It would be fun to get out and go with Lara. At concerts enough people were thinking all the same thoughts it wasn't quite as painful.

"I think I've heard of your band before," Levi said, glancing at the webpage before typing it in on his phone and favoriting it.

"Yeah, you've done a lot parties and such lately, haven't you?" Levi asked. He tried to rack his brain to remember where he'd heard of them lately. "The rave, you were the one that got all of the paperwork and stuff for the rave."

"It was very impressive paperwork," Levi said. Not a lot of people who wanted to throw raves but that sort of dedication and attention to detail into it. It ensured that everyone had a good time. "We appreciate people who take the time to do things right. It creates less work for us."

" And most important, remember - death is an everyday part of the workplace!" Levi said. He'd only watched the show a few times but that particular quote stuck in his head. Which was good, because now he could show the cool kids how cool he was.

"Yes, and- excuse me just a moment," he said, catching some very specific thoughts approaching the comic shop. Setting down his stake of trades to purchase he stepped outside the shop for a moment before he headed back in, a brown paper bag in hand.

"Here, chocolate cake donut with raspberry drizzle," he said, handing it to her. "So you don't have to run anyone over for it."

"Nope, just a human with a cellphone that can text lower level cops who have to do my bidding," he said, waving his phone before slipping it back into his pocket. It felt good to do something nice for someone, because it was nice and because he got the positive thoughts from them.

"I'll just be an every day hero, fewer skin tight costumes that way," he said. Actually, Levi had a closet full of skin tight costumes but he wasn't about to tell a stranger that. Or even most people who actually knew him.
